[SOLVED]Time is incorrect

Hello

WHen I booted up today at 11:53AM, the time was wrong. Here is what date spits out

Sun Mar 15 06:53:16 EST 2009

I tried the command

/usr/bin/ntpdate ntp1.cs.wisc.edu

and that got me closer to the correct time, but it is still behind one hour. It is currently 12PM here but it is showing 11AM. Any ideas how to fix this?

Oh and here is my rc.conf

Re: [SOLVED]Time is incorrect

You have the wrong TIMEZONE setting. The one you picked ignores DST. You should set it to "America/New_York" or "US/Eastern".

Re: [SOLVED]Time is incorrect

the timezone you'll get from /usr/share/zoneinfo/ then put it in rc.conf

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: [SOLVED]Time is incorrect

Thanks. I changed it to US/Eastern and it synced now

When I was installing, that is actually what I did. I saw EST and decided that matched was what I needed so thats what I put in my rc.conf. Oh well lesson learned

Thanks again for your help guys
