they cheat. how can somebody be some dump that think that debian/ubuntu/linux mint is the same thing? there are different distributions, different community. is like that opensuse and fedora are the same because both are rpm based even are maintain by different people/corporation.

I just voted. Arch of course! And I agree that bunching Ubuntu / Debian and Mint together is wrong. Clearly most of the votes will be for Ubuntu. I bet "pure" Debian users are annoyed! Anyway whatever the poll says we all know which is best

I agree, the Debian/Ubuntu/Mint trio should have their vote count divided by 3, to be mathematically just.

And I have to say, Arch has by far the sexiest screenshot of all of them up there

Ya I posted on the second page of comments how I felt it was dumb to rank all three of those major distributions together. They thought it would be smart because they all use aptitude. In no way, though, does that qualify them to be ranked as the same distributions. Honestly, if I was a developer of Debian, I would be pretty mad.

Well I think Arch, Debian, Suse, Fedora and Ubuntu should be lumped together as one distro because they use the Linux Kernel....

Hey.. we're talking about lifehacker here. they think sh == bash == Terminal.app and call editing your "/etc/hostname" a "seriously cool hack to change your hostname"

I do follow their feed though. Amongst all the newbie stuff there is something nice every once in a while.

Yeah, I'd like to see an average Ubuntu user staring at the console of Arch install cd with his/her mouth wide open, wondering where's the mouse cursor.

Ouch. Well at least they're not on Windows. Or MacOS, god forbid.

I came from Ubuntu a few days ago and I'm extremely pleased with Arch, though. A bit of publicity can't hurt. Arch isn't a cult, is it?
