(Note, I wasn't sure if this was better here in Linux Discussions or over in Off-Topic. It is tangentially about Linux...)
I wanted to know if anyone subscribes to any of the Linux publications. I happened to spot one called Linux Pro Magazine at the bookstore today that had a few bits in it I wanted to read about. The article about Hping3 was interesting. I've been having fun popping of packets all evening. The bit about minix has me itching to add a virtual install to test it out.
What do y'all think about the Linux mags? Are they worth subscribing to? Any favorites/suggestions?
Thank you!
I keep getting distracted from my webserver project...
huh? oooh... shiny!

I usually obtain electronic versions through other sources, but I'm not discussing that
I don't think they're really worth it, considering the vast amount of Linux knowledge available online. The only Linux-related thing I'd consider subscribing to would be LWN, mostly just to support them -- they have _fantastic_ articles, above and beyond any mag I've ever seen.

I was given a Linux Format subscription. It's a decent magazine with some interesting bits in it (news, Dr. Browns administeria ... ), but it is very oriented towards the major distributions which I do not understand really, since Linux is much more than package managers and desktop features IMO.
I do look forward to reading it every month, as Linux is one of my major interests atm.
