As the comment says, I'm trying to get back into the gimp. Wasn't sure what else to put in the middle, so I just put the Arch logo (took away the trademark and "archlinux (TM)"). It's been a really long time since I've done something like this. It's based on another creation I made:
Both were made with the Gimp. The only thing that wasn't from scratch were the bullet holes and logos. In my opinion, the rust for the Windows one looks better.
I might do so more manipulations to the Arch logo. I'll be making 2 others for 1.33 and 1.60 screen ratios.
---Edit---
1.33 ratio

You could try putting the layer with the Arch logo (and Windows logo for that matter) in multiply mode and get it on a layer above the rust stains. That way the rust won't stop on the logo's border (correct me if I'm wrong, of course).

Only if it's constructive criticism my harsh friend.
@OP: Cool idea, but make the Arch logo brighter, use a blending mode on it perhaps, so it looks painted on instead of just pasted. Your background image could be better too, search around the net for a nicer texture.

Or you can use same colors for texture: black on black or white on white (or any other combination). This way you can have better looking background, bit more uniform, true, but better looking.
Gnome -> Openbox -> Awesome -> XMonad -> dwm .

Thanks for the comments and constructive criticisms.
Yeah, I've been trying to improve on the rust. It was a method I remembered which used a plasma cloud and a couple of layers.
