Logitec webcam

OK this should be simple but is not working for me ...
How do I tell Skype to use v4l2 and not v4l device... is detecting my web cam but on v4l not v4l2 mode..??/
help please/ TIA.

Never mind I think is my TV card getting in the way again...

Hint: You also might want to put a line like the following into your .bashrc or .xinitrc so you don't have to type that long command all the time: 
 export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so

or 
 export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so
