gedit not focusing

When i open a document (via nautilus) in gedit (2.24.3) when i have a gedit instance running gedit is not raised and focused.
Other apps (e.g. medit) do not behave like this.
I have searched about this and it seem to have been a problem before but i see no recent reports of this.

I suspect i have something badly configured in metacity or gedit but i cant find anything that fixes this behaviour.
Perhaps this is the intended behaviour of gedit though.

Can someone test if they see the same behaviour as i ?

Re: gedit not focusing

Doesn't focus for me. It seems to be a very old bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348339

Re: gedit not focusing

Thanks for testing.
I guess this bug is only visible in some setups since it has been a problem for some for so long.

Re: gedit not focusing

Are you able to reproduce this bug when using vim instead of gedit?

Re: gedit not focusing

I am a little unsure what you want me to test .. i do not use vim.
Should i have vim running in a terminal and then open a document with vim using nautilus to see if the vim terminal is focused ?

Re: gedit not focusing

I was unable to fix this in gnome so i switched to xfce.
I suspect this is a problem specific to arch/gnome since there are no recent reports of this problem.
