[solved] xf86-input-synaptics not working w/ i915-repo
Hello,
I followed the guide posted in post #44 in http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=66057&p=2 and now the graphics work much better. However, I'm having difficulty finding the right version of xf86-input-synaptics to work with xorg-server 1.4.2-2. Any one have any success?
P.S. the relevant error (when I tried xf86-input-synaptics-0.99.1, avaliable at http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver … ynaptics/) in Xorg.0.log is as follows:
(II) LoadModule: "synaptics"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module synaptics
(II) UnloadModule: "synaptics"

Have you tried the packages at http://www.schlunix.org/archlinux/extra/os/i686/ ?

You need to load the old "synaptics" package, which is now superseded by xf86-input-synaptics.

Just FYI, one can find the old synaptics package in the repo listed in the previous post.
