Slim using 100% CPU

I logged in and noticed slim was taking up all my cpu and I had to kill it. Anyone familiar with this?

It seems to happen to lots and lots of people. I know that it comes up here in the forums quite frequently. I don't recall ever hearing of a solution though.

Re: Slim using 100% CPU

I've been using Slim since I installed Arch, and in my case, Slim locks up using 100% CPU only if I have killed the X server using Ctrl-alt-backspace, but if my X session ends normally (by exiting my window manager for example), then Slim re-spawns the X server as would be expected. Never bothered looking for a solution in my case since I can just log in to a console and run "sudo pkill -9 slim" and then restart it with "sudo /etc/rc.d/slim start".
