is the firebird arch package (0.10...) the lastest version of firebird ? (1.0 rc1-2)

Search the forums for an unofficial firefox 1rc PKGBUILD.  You can use that until the maintainers release a stable version of the rc.  Patience

The Preview Release is in the Repos which is imo just a pre-rc. So why shouldn't it be included when its stable?

I haven't used the latest *foxes so I'm not sure of the versioning scheme but take a look at their repo

Some packages have been proven stable should show up in the official repo, no matter what stage it claims to be. Firefox is a good example, if we wait to see the final version, we will possible lost our way. You know before the final 1.0, the firefox always claims it's at the early stage--"a technical preview", but over million people have test it and even use it dailly,
So philosophy is here, but flexibility too.
If you want one firefox rc, you can use my PKGBUILD, I have modified a little but not too much thing:
