USB MP3 Player (MPman f50)

Hi all,

I've downloaded a program to upload MP3's to my MpMan f50, called mplinuxman.
However, when I start it up, it says it can't find my USB mpman. Do I have to do something special to get USB working on my system?

This is what dmesg gives my about USB:

[root@evelien bin]# dmesg | grep -i usb

usbcore: registered new driver hub
usbcore: registered new driver hiddev
usbcore: registered new driver usbhid

Re: USB MP3 Player (MPman f50)

Aha, I was using 2.6.9 and the USB module wasn't loaded.

Now for another problem, my USB device does not show up in /dev. Altough it's not a problem, I can access my mp3 mplayer fine with mplinuxman, but only as root.

Re: USB MP3 Player (MPman f50)

i had a similar problem with my printer, only works when this was connected to the pc in the starting process.
I had change the usb modules to integrate in the kernl, and this works...
