Sound card

I'm running Arch 64 bit, and Alsa is having trouble with my onboard sound card.  Other distros do too.  I want to put in a cheap sound card that will work flawlessly with Alsa.  I don't need surround or anything fancy, but I would like it to be cheap and loud.  Any suggestions?
