Has fglrx been removed from kernel 2.6.28?

I've tried updating the kernel and a fresh install, and module fglrx is nowhere to be found.

Three weeks ago it was working perfectly, I formatted to change some things and no more fglrx.

Did I miss something?

edit:

I've been checking out news saying that Arch has completely dropped the catalyst drivers. Is this true, and is there a workaround I can use?

If so, I'm hitting an error installing the xorg-server dependency when installing that package with yaourt.

Nevermind, I need to install xorg from testing.

Okay, I removed xorg-server and libgl because they were conflicting with the install, but after running the package from the AUR, I'm getting tossed an error saying replacing packages with -U is not yet supported, and catalyst-utils conflicts with libgl.

I don't know what's going on here.

Thoughts?

All the information you need is in the error message. Just do what it says. If you need more information, read the pacman man page.

Ahh, I was simply removing xorg-server *and* libgl, and when it would reinstall xorg-server, it would put libgl right back. pacman -Rd libgl got it working again.

The upside is that catalyst is finally installed. The bad news is that upon a modprobe, I get:

FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.28-ARCH/video/fglrx.ko): Cannot allocate memory

According to this bug report:

I might be screwed.

Just for reference, my lspci output for video is:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AS [Radeon 9550]

This sucks, because my video card was working perfectly in February.
