Can't access any other hard drive partitions...

Hi, I just installed Arch for the beginner guide and I can't access any of my drives...

I am using kde 4.2 and I can see all my drives in dolphin, but when I go to have a look at them, I get the following error message:

An error occurred while accessing 'Volume (ntfs)', the system responded:
org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.PermissionDeniedBYPolocy: hal-storage-mount-fixed-extra-options no <-- (action, result)

I have looked around the net, but nothing fixing this specifically...

Can anyone help... I understand it to be a permission problem, and I have had suggestions like I am not in the right group to have access to the drives...

I am in the following groups:

lp wheel video audio optical storage power users gareth

(gareth being my username)

I have also isntalled ntfs-3g, I thought that might help, but did nothing...

Anyway any help is much apreciated.

Re: Can't access any other hard drive partitions...

can you manually mount them?
eg.
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdaX /some/mount/point   ('X' being your partition-no)

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
