I can't speak for every USB mouse-but all the basic functions should work fine.
It is many-button mice which need some tinkering to get working.

I've used that mouse in the past. You should be aware that it goes through batteries very quickly, and wasn't very reliable. I gave up on it. If you want a good reliable small mouse, the best one I've found is (maybe surprisingly) a Microsoft mouse:

Most 'wireless' mice are just regular USB mice with some kind of infrared connection between the USB receiver and the mouse itself. Linux will only see the USB end.
If you want a bluetooth mouse, I can recommend the Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse.
