Archspotting

Arch is like modern Elvis (minus the peanut-butter and bacon sandwich and sweatstained jumpsuit... well, unless you install them)... it shows up all over the place when you're least expecting it.

I was looking through the metalink specification and found this in there:

<publisher>
  <name>Arch Linux</name>
  <url>http://www.archlinux.org/</url>
</publisher>

So, where else has it popped up? Post your unexpected Arch sightings (just to be clear, "unexpected" doesn't mean that you head over to google then pull something off of a page so far back it needs star-date notation, but we probably won't know so if it makes you feel better, go for it).

Please someone dig(g) out the pic of the plagiarized, yellow Arch logo in the back of a booth big_smile

Re: Archspotting

A couple of years ago I did a search for "arch linux" on sourceforge.net just to see if there were any interesting arch linux tools. I didn't find any interesting tools but I did find this project page for Arch Linux:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/archlinux/

Who needs to install those things separately when you can install the whole elvis in one package? Woot for not splitting packages unnecessarily!

Re: Archspotting

Hmmm... I wonder if I could get my school IT guys to try out Arch on some of our servers (they use Slack right now) tongue

*edit*
nvm, I was really tired when I posted and my brain decided that it could be bothered to distinguish between "Linux" and "Arch Linux"
