[SOLVED]Amarok 2.0.2 Play/Pause Global Shortcut Does Not Work Properly

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question tonight. I have the global shortcut for Play/Pause in Amarok set to Ctrl+` which works in the sense that it causes Amarok to play. However, the problem is that it does not actually Pause the music, it merely resets to the beginning of the playing song. Any ideas on what could cause this? I've tried setting it to a different shortcut with the same end result. I'm using KDEmod 4.2.1.

There are two different events, Play, that is what you use, and Play/Pause (IIRC, I'm at work now, cannot check it). Search for the other hotkey in the list, and set that to ctrl+`.
PS: the problem with that will be, that if Amarok is stopped (not paused), this hotkey will not start playing, it merely pauses/unpauses, so you will need another hotkey to initiate playing.

See, that's my problem though. I have it set to the Play/Pause function, but it's acting as if it's just the Play button.

I'm using the package from KDEmod-Extragear. I was thinking about installing the SVN package from the AUR. Any ideas on what I should change?

Me too, and the hotkey works correctly here. Speaking of KDEMod, you should check out the Chakra forum, there is some problems with upgrading to QT4.5, Amarok is affected also. In a nutshell: you should install KDE from the the kdemod-testing repository with the QTmod package.

Thank you very much for that last piece of advice. I just updated to KDEmod testing and Qtmod. So far everything is working much better than it was previously.

Haha forgot to mention that bit. But yes, including the shortcut. I realized the problem before was that the pause function in Amarok was actually not working, even clicking the large pause button in the app got the same response as before.
