trying to install the ruby package keeps wanting to snag x.org and friends.
is there are ruby in the repos that does not have an X win dependency?

How about pacman -Sd ruby and installing other dependencies manually? Is x-server dependency critical ?

I am sure it is for the tk built in support, but likely not for the command line only stuff.
I will likely just download the ruby source and build it without all the stuff I don't use.
Maybe I will make my first package build!

yay.
I just used ABS to get the pkgbuild, edited it to remove the dependencies that I didn't want, and ran makepkg.

bam!
out popped my ruby!

*does happy dance*
