Question about GNOME 2.26 xrandr gui

Hello

When I'm trying to set up a dual monitor solution on my computer, Display preferences says that I can't have a resolution over 1920x1920, but that isn't correct, how do I work around this?

Re: Question about GNOME 2.26 xrandr gui

what card and what driver are you using? tried to set VirtualSize in the xorg.conf?

my first guess is that you didn't set VirtualSize and your current resolution is 1920*x and since most drivers can not yet resize the framebuffer dynamically (afaik only the intel driver currently can do that) you can only use a square the size of the current width from your resolution.

you can specify a larger size with the VirtualSize option.
