I want to connect my dvi lcd to my laptop using a usb to dvi external video card. Do these work in linux? Also is there any specific brand I should get.
Here is one if your not sure what I mean:
SONY VAIO VGN-FS630/W, 1.73Ghz Pentium M, 512mb RAM (Intel 915GM) (Ubuntu 9.04, Arch & BT3)

Sorry, I can't find _any_ USB-to-DVI adapters that support Linux (at least, no one saying they do, and some complaints about them not doing so) through Google, besides a few Chinese ones that you must buy in bulk (100s) claiming Linux support.
Does your laptop not have VGA (or worst case S-Video) out, which can be converted if your LCD does not support them?

Hmm I guess I'll skip on buying a $100 adapter when vga actually doent look that bad. I'm running my 22" lcd at 1680x1050 and there is minimal ghosting. Not perfect, but great for vga
