[SOLVED] Xsane (0.966) vs. VueScan (8.5.08) Mem Usage?

Around 17 MB for Xsane at startup, 170 MB for VueScan. Is this consistent with what you guys are getting? Did not realize that VueScan was such a resource hog...

Note: Verified across four other systems, two of them Arch, one Slackware and the other Debian.
