Just wan't to add, ever since I switched to arch (a few months ago) i've never looked back. You could say i've been in "distro-hell" since 2005, started out with u/kubuntu, gentoo, mandriva, xandros, debian, sidux knoppix you name it, then someone mentioned arch, a small but very powerful i686 distro. It tooks me a few minutes to install the actual distro (very easy) and for the first time the distro's default kernel wasn't bloated to hell or a compilers nightmare (cflags anyone?). Please be aware i'm NOT saying all the other distros I mentioned are inferior or anything, I just find arch to be my own perfect setup.
You could say after a minutes using pacman and it's port like system along with aur, I finally found my perfect distro/os, namely arch ![]()
Let's keep my post short shall we? ![]()
The bottomline is: I love this community, nobody demands any money just for asking various questions, same goes for their official IRC channel. I love arch and it's sexy pacman, I love the devs for making one helluva distro.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

I actually just installed a few days ago and its been a really fun time. Nothing beats actually solving your own problems and learning about how your system works.
Ive been using linux off and on, and once i got my netbook I put up with Ubuntu for a good few months, now nothing against Ubuntu but I've always liked to consider myself a power user and it didnt let me do anything for myself really.
Thanks to the community for giving me a distro I feel happy about using.
ps: seemed like a good place to make my first post ![]()

But why? This is going somewhere, it will eventually become an adopt a dev thread, where you pay a dev to be your dev and work for Arch Linux maintaining the packages you love. Anyone in love with wine? ![]()
