mutt, gmail and failed sasl

hello everyone, can't find help for this on the forums or on the net, so resorting to a new post. I've got arch up and running with a minimalist setup, trying to use mutt with gmail via imap. All works fine, except on sending mail it says "sasl authentication failed." I tried cyrus-sasl, postfix and something else as well, but it seems that was unnecessary, since sasl is compiled in mutt....so perhaps its a mutt problem, but I thought I'd try here first, since the setup works on ubuntu

speaking of which, I'd like to say a quick thank you to all those who put in effort on the documentation for arch. Truly amazing - best written I've come across. I've learnt a huge amount over the last couple of days just following the beginners guide.

I'm an idiot....sorry...after an entire evening researching, I just happened to check the config file and found I'd made a typo
terribly sorry, feel free to delete the post
