I have found that no packages provide librecord.so. xmacro requires it to record keystrokes. Even though my xorg.conf contains 'Load "record"' under 'Section "Module"', there is no librecord.so under /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions. Why is this?

It's installed on my machine:
pacman -Qo /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/librecord.so
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/librecord.so is owned by xorg-server 1.6.0-2

$ ls /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/
libdbe.so libdri.xorg libglx.so libglx.xorg
libdri.so libextmod.so libglx.so.180.29 libxtrap.so
$ pacman -Q xorg-server
xorg-server 1.5.3-4
I don't have librecord.so in that directory, but your xorg-server version is higher. Could that have something to do with it?

$ p -Q xorg-server

Are you on [testing], or is my mirror out of date? (http://archlinux.umflint.edu)

xorg-server 1.6 in the testing repo provides this extension, so you can either enable testing, or wait for it to move to the extra repo.

OK thanks for the clarification tomk.
skottish: Can you post the md5sum of the librecord.so on your system?
