After last system and/or Skype update, the Skype is unstable .
Is anyone using Skype under XFCE4?

No. I used Skype last night under openbox and it was fine.
Are you using [testing]?
What are the lib dependancies on Skype? Try reinstalling them.

If Fixed is on 64 bit, then nothing should have changed with libraries themselves. There are no lib32 libraries in testing.
--EDIT--
Bad, bad, bad, moderator. Of course video drivers can be effected by stuff like lib32-nvidia-utils.

After today kernel update, I am able to start Skype, but after entering Password, the program crashes.
On top of it, even before today's update, I permanently had another Skype problems:
-- if someone calls -- PC speakers do not ring if the headphones with mic are plugged into computer (supposed to buzz);
-- there is no small pop-up window if someone calls me -- I need to wait until call ends and go to Skype window to see whose call was missed
-- cannot see the small windows at the right bottom corner of the screen notifying me if someone logs in or leaves Skype
Has anyone experienced the same problems?
I am running XFCE4 under Arch64.

Yes. I'm using bin32-Skype from AUR under arch64/XFCE4 with no problems; however, I skipped the most recent Skype update, since, as far as I know, all they did was add lib32-libv4l to the PKGBUILD as a dependency, and Skype has been working fine for me without it.
Just noticed you are using [testing]. I'm not.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but my skype just keeps randomly dying on me. It just disappears from my taskbar for no apparent reason every few hours. I'll run it out of a terminal again to see if I get an errors but I seem to remember getting nothing before. I'm running bin32-skype from the aur.

I initiated this thread long time before and stopped to complain about intermitten Skype problems because don't see much of a progress.
Yes, I would say Skype has MANY problems. Some of them appear and disappear with system updates, I guess.
I'm sure those are problem of Arch, because when I'm not able to make/receive call, I either re-load into Vista, or use iPhone Skype -- those animals work no probs.
Today, for example, I wasn't able even chat through Skype
