debuging php on apache (xdebug ?)

Does anybody debugs php with xdebug on arch? I triedto setup vim to do it, but no success so far  (see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=68873). Therefore I am asking - does anybody have positive experience with some othe tool/IDE using to debug php on apache, either by xdebug or by some other means? I have nice small old notebook, so Eclipse is too heavy for me to use.
