Perhaps a couple hours early for some, but...

I want to congratulate the Arch devs, forum mods etc for a well-executed awesome idea.

The news bulletin, mailing list, bug report, the good ideas... muchos kudos.

Good luck consoling all the fretting i686ers. tongue

*edit*
just noting that a certain mod *cough*kilt*cough*bagpipes*cough* abused his powers to edit my post tongue

I also agree that whatever it is you're talking about is an awesome idea.

FYI, here is this years filter list:
http://dev.archlinux.org/~allan/filters.png

Some "good idea"s migrated to "awesome idea"s as the day progressed...  And there are a lot more than I ever added.

Before some thoughtless bastard of a moderator edited his post, Xyne had that up first.

Does anybody have a link to last year's filter list?

Re: Perhaps a couple hours early for some, but...

Last year's prank involved switching everything to German. Did that include the word filters?

Yes, there were word filters last year.  neotuli posted an image of the filter words in this thread, but it is now a 404.  The only one I remember is "Viva La Deutschland!"

Re: Perhaps a couple hours early for some, but...

I would like to say thanks to devs mods and all others that decided that this years prank will be about i686.
Without that I would still think that my processor is 32bit, but now I know that it's really 64bit.

Thats one positive side effect we never considered. Quite a few people discovered that. So to anyone that hasn't moved to x86_64, now's a great opportunity.

I think half the community is switching to arch64 (me too) , i heard it's even slightly faster ( awesome) and so the whole idea wouldnt be  a problem wink

And april 1st was "Oktoberfest". big_smile
That was awesome. I didn't notice that there was a filterlist for a very long time. I was wondering why so many people talked about Oktoberfest and praised Germany. big_smile
