trouble with openntpd

Hi,

I tried installing openntpd.
This is /etc/ntpd.conf:

server 0.de.pool.ntp.org
server 1.de.pool.ntp.org
server 2.de.pool.ntp.org
server 3.de.pool.ntp.org

Now I try to start:

sudo /etc/rc.d/openntpd start
:: Starting OpenNTPD                                                                                                                    [BUSY]
fatal: getservbyname
dispatch_imsg in main: pipe closed
Terminating

Ideas?
Thanks!
Nathan

Re: trouble with openntpd

Do you have a newline at the end of the config file? Can someone else use those ntp servers to assure they are working?

Re: trouble with openntpd

No newline would return: /etc/ntpd.conf:4: syntax error. DE servers above queried and verified from Los Angeles, CA.

Re: trouble with openntpd

Try :

grep ntp /etc/services

Does it output some lines with ntp ?

Also, have a look at this thread : http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=264810

Re: trouble with openntpd

Try reinstalling the package "filesystem", as it's the one that provides /etc/services.
