pm-hibernation issue

I just set up my system to use pm-utils (by installing pm-utils, and adding resume=/dev/sda6 to my menu.lst). The first time I ran sudo pm-hibernate it resumed like a charm, but since that it hangs during the step where it's suspending the console or whatever. I have no custom configuration, though I did try running it with the --quirk-radeon-off option, but to no avail.

I have A Thinkpad X31, and I would like to know if anyone has ideas of what I can do to fix this (with quirks or with a configuration file). I can give you my lsmod if you think that would help.

please help.
