[SOLVED] Can not use Ctrl + Alt to switch to tty consoles

Hi,

I can not switch to the tty consoles when i am in my Desktop Enviroment. I am not sure where the problem can be.

I am useing KDE 4.2 on Arch 64

Are you using the NVidia proprietary drivers with dual-screen? Cos there's a bug with that, simple workaround when you want a tty is to restart X with only one screen.

If you're not, then please give more details on your system, anything related to display and graphics especially. Just your DE and flavour of Arch doesn't help all that much, though its a start.

Hi and thanks,

I am using NVidia's proprietary driver. I have a Nvidia 9800 GT running on a single display.

I have noticed that Ctrl + Alt + Backspace is not working either. In fact i can't even type '@' or any of the characters that normally use Ctrl + Alt or Alt Gr.

It seems i have solved the problem.

I was loading the wrong layout.
