VirtualBox boot partition?

Is it possible to use VirtualBox to boot Windows 7 from another partition? That way I would have to install it twice, wasting space. hmm

Re: VirtualBox boot partition?

You can, take a look at chapter 9.9 on the Vbox manual you can download from their site.

There are many restrictions.

In particular:

Warning: Raw hard disk access is for expert users only. Incorrect use or use
of an outdated configuration can lead to total loss of data on the physical
disk. Most importantly, do not attempt to boot the partition with the currently
running host operating system in a guest. This will lead to severe data
corruption

Never tried it and probably never will. tongue
