obex-data-server outdated

Hello,
A few days ago I found out that the package obex-data-server is out-of-date. It's in extra and still in version 0.4.2 although 0.4.4 is already released. I'm bringing this up because it is not just a typical issue, there's difference in functionality. Version 0.4.2 doesn't really work when trying to establish communication with a bluetooth device, but 0.4.4 does.
The package has been already flagged out-of-date here:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … ta-server/

and here:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … ta-server/

but still there's no update.

I can provide an updated and working PKGBUILD if needed. I hope the maintainer sees this thread. smile

The maintainer knows it's out of date, and will update it as soon as he can. You can post the updated PKGBUILD here if you wish, so that other users who are in a hurry can use it.

Re: obex-data-server outdated

Although it's a one month old thread, I have to say that the situation is still unchanged. I think there are many people like me out there using AUR package now.

Re: obex-data-server outdated

Well, given it has just been highlighted that a package in the AUR has the same name as one in [extra], I'm sure it will be deleted soon...

You can send a polite email to the maintainer asking on the status on this update.

Re: obex-data-server outdated

It's not a bug, it's a package awaiting update, and all the information you require to build the updated version for yourself is provided here in this thread and in the wiki.

Re: obex-data-server outdated

Thanks a lot, I also couldn'y make bluetooth transfer work because of this "non-bug". I hope that the pkg gets updated soon, since it's needed for transfer to work

Re: obex-data-server outdated

I pushed obex-data-server-0.4.4-1 to the repos.  I can't test it, but I figure it can't be more broken than it currently is...

I don't understand what you mean.  It is a package in the main repos so will not be in the AUR.
