VLC broken?

What happened with VLC? Is it 1st of April joke? Preferences window doesn't open, menu disappeared, right mouse button don't work, cyrillic titles of songs shows incorrectly... Who broke VLC?

Re: VLC broken?

Maybe its really April's fool joke ..... the vlc icon changes in xmas time .... who knows.
Seems like lately vlc is a bit broken, I guess the fault for that is upstream not in Arch.

Re: VLC broken?

I have no problems with VLC. Perhaps your configuration might be broken? This has happened to me a few times, the solution was to delete vlc's preferences directory: ~/.config/vlc

(or rename to something else if you want to keep it, in case this doesn't solve your problem)

Re: VLC broken?

I had the same problem; upgrading to latest qt (4.5 or something) solved the problem for me.

Re: VLC broken?

One thing that I have never seen working (and is keeping me from using it) is the complete fail of the "Integrate Video in Interface" option that does not work.

They said it would be fixed in this version, but it seems to persists.

Use the vlc-embeddedvideo in AUR instead.

Re: VLC broken?

I loved VLC before the switch to Qt and the breakage of the new versions.
I use SMplayer now...
