what about an option for pacman3 to answer the question in "pacman -Suy" after downloading the packages with YES?

-> i want to have a cron-job running once a week and doing the update

e.g. pacman -SuyYq

where -q =quiet
      -Y =do not ask anything

Have a look at the /arch/setup installer on the CD or download it from ftp.archlinux.org. It does exactly that using the nifty little unix tool called 'yes', no addition features required, and it even comes with a manpage.
