I have to downgrade to 2.6.28, xorg 1.5 and nvidia 177.82 because the combination of 2.6.29, xorg 1.6 and the latest nvidia drivers (and nvidia-beta) will periodically lockup my laptop.
I'm looking for a copy of whatever the version of xf86-input-evdev worked before the xorg update. I have all the other packages I need in my pacman cache to downgrade.
Thanks!
Scott

Thank you so much!!
Aaaarg .... ummm do you by any chance have the previous xf86-input-mouse too? Good thing I know my keyboard shortcuts! Is there anything else I might need for the downgrade? Everything else besides the mouse (trackpad) seems to be working at this point.
I actually stuck with 2.6.29 and just adjusted the PKGBUILD that I've kept on hand for the nvidia 177.82 (the only ones that don't flicker and lock up my system), to allow it to work with 2.6.29. It seems to be working so far <fingers crossed>. I just wish I figure out a fix for the nvidia drivers -- tried the pci=nommconf per nvnews forum, but that had no effect.
[edit]Nope. 2.6.29 doesn't work w/ the 177.82 drivers. I get like like 4 fps on glxgears (normally 1990). Back down to 2.6.28 Still need that older xf86-input-mouse, if someone would be so kind!
Thanks!

Well - duh! Thanks for the <smack> reminder Compiled that and the synaptics driver. PKGBUILDS from abs (adjusted for the new sources and older xorg-server).
All working fine now.
Thanks very much!
