hi,

Nope, it's a miracle, concerning the scsi kernel only, AFAIK. Some devs have
rebuilt with some module variations but no clue so far where it does come
from.
It goes like that:
usbcore loads usbfs (when it shouldn't), at a time when proc is not mounted.
usbfs tries to create the dir and throws that error. Later on boot process
hotplug corrects that. So it's a kind of annoyance, but it does feel
uncomfortable as long as no one where it does come from :-/

Well... at least I know that this isn't an isolated problem.
I completely forgot about mentioning that I run the SCSI kernel. d'oh!

I'm using udev and got that message during boot. I modified /etc/fstab to add "noauto" and the problem went away. Now it gets mounted later (when it's needed). I assume the early "mount -a" in /etc/rc.sysinit was automatically mounting it with the rest.

i seem to have same problem.
i can mount /proc/bus/usb only after uhci-hcd is loaded (which i dont load automatically). i dont remember if that was always like that... i tried adding "noauto" to fstab, but still, /proc/bus/usb wont get mounted no matter what, unless i do "mount -a" or "mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb" manually after loading uhci-hcd. is that the normal behavior or am i doing something wrong? tnx.
remark:
after loading uhci-hcd i do have /prob/bus/usb directory, but it is not mounted (usbfs).
(using udev+kernel 2.6.9)
