Re: Desktop as V4L ?

Istanbul (AUR), Xvidcap (Extra), recordMyDesktop (Community and AUR), Pyvnc2swf (AUR)

I am sure there are others.

Edit: When I first read the title, I figured you wanted to sure your wallpaper to your webcam. (either mildly narcissistic or paranoid, depending on what you set the cam to watch.)

Re: Desktop as V4L ?

No, no, you misunderstood me. I know recordMyDesktop, etc but i want to capture my desktop AS v4l device, so applications which take data from v4l could capture my desktop. Ive found xf86-video-v4l driver in repos, and i THINK it does this, but when i would set this driver in my xorg.conf, i couldnt use my monitor smile

Re: Desktop as V4L ?

Could you possibly set up dual screen, with one screen using your monitor and the other with the v4l driver in clone mode? I have no idea if this is possible but just throwing ideas about.

Jack.
