This will send all output to file typescript ...

when you have finished your session exit

exit

(or Ctl+d)

all your commands and output are saved in tyepscript

man script

oooh. I had learned that in an into Unix course in computer science some time back, but had completely forgotten about it.

It's useful for example when you are working on a complicated pkgbuild and you first try to do some things "manually" (like patching, compiling with different options, etc, etc.). Later you can extract what you need and use in your pkgbuild. Together with screen's copy/paste mode it's really powerful (no need to worry about scrollback history, no need for mouse,...)
