When pekwm and gnome-panel were running at the same time, gnome-panel could not use ANYTHING that related to window management...and I have no idea why. I installed gnome-panel and pekwm correctly, so I am wondering why gnome-panel would not have those applets enabled. I was about to start making my desktop computer minimalistic...

It's most likely because pekwm doesn't use the desktop standards that gnome panel expects. You could try openbox, which works fine with gnome-panel.

What would those standards be?
Errors as gnome-panel says:
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_WindowListApplet".
And I am thinking of Openbox if I see that no other panel works right with pekwm...I liked its tabbing ability.

Do you have the applet installed? Is there a verbose output option? Is that the only error? And what do you mean by "not use anything related to window management"? Does this mean that you can't do things like minimize windows? (I'm not sure which applets handle what parts of the panel).

It cannot use window list or menu applets, and the applet should be there by default...
Another pekwm user said they had no problems.

Have you tried loading the panel without anything else running, or with a different WM?

try xfces panel
freenode.net #linuxn00b

Okay. I still can't find something that will easily configure my GTK+ colors...

Have you given gnomecc a try?

If you mean gnome-color-chooser, then yes...and it didn't work. It was saying it couldn't write to the GTK+ config file.
Just got the gnome-control-center. Logging out is taking forever because of the settings daemon >_____< I want to know where the gnome-settings for the gtk+ theme is so I don't have to rely on the control center.

Well, if that's what you want, just edit the ~/.themes/<name>/gtkrc-2.0 file.

That's where it writes the settings? I'll need to check that when I get home or use an Ubuntu LiveCD just to see if that's where it writes it.
