Hello I got a problem with gnome 2.26. First I noticed this problem when I set screensaver for 5 minutes (gnomes default) and "Put display at sleep when inactive for :" 15 minutes, so generally after 15 or 20 (dont sure how it goes) minutes monitor supposed to go off. I tried few time leaving the pc untouched for a very long time (Im 100% sure its more that 20 minutes) and when I back only screensaver was active. I tough the problem might be with power-manager, but I think I was wrong, I set screensvaer for 1 minute and monitor power off for 2-10minutes (tried different combination) and ALL the times I tried, screensaver was activated exactly after 5 minutes! no matter what settings I put in gnome-screensvaer (tried lower than 5, I think 1 and 2, didnt try more than 5). Previous version of gnome (2.24?25?) I didnt had this problem and when I set screensaver for 1 minutes it was activated after 1 minute.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

I have the exact same problem, I haven't figured it out either...
Just thought I'd post so people don't think this is an isolated problem.
Thanks.

Many people seem to be having this problem (there is another thread somewhere). For now, I have switched to xscreensaver.

It's a bug in gnome-power-manager, and it's been fixed upstream in the SVN. Installing g-p-m from SVN fixes the problem; otherwise will need to wait for a new release or switch to xscreensaver.
