Re: March 2009 Screenshots

Looks interesting - minimised. I don't like the clutter (imho) that Ario comes with... Too many buttons and windows confuse a simple mind like me tongue.

i agree, but you can disable some tabs/buttons IIRC; i have lots hidden so it's basically sonata with a library.  don't use it all that often though.  ncmpcpp over ssh or media keys when at home mostly.

on second look, that might not be ario.  i'll await the real answer as i agree, it looks good.

Re: March 2009 Screenshots

Here's my KDEmod desktop:
General info:
Bare Naked plasma theme (made by me)
Bespin win.deco; widget-style and Amarok hack.
many random widgets...
My main activity with STasks task manager; STDIN plasmoid and two comic widgets:
archf5.th.png

my Study activity
archf.th.png

Amarok Bespin hack on my Multimedia activity(as seen on other screenshots):
archfam.th.png

And proof that even full-blown KDE environment with many apps running in background is still lightweight:
from 9%-13% of CPU and tops 500MB of 2GB RAM.

archf4.th.png

And now for some flames:
With low resource usage like this who needs lightweight WM or DE big_smile
OK granted, that my apps do take few seconds to get loaded but that can be remedied right? I just have to figure out how big_smile.

Edit: Wow @ PvtVenom it's better looking than full blown KDE of mine (I'm jealous).

As most artists in all formats know, sometimes it isn't what you put in to your work, it's what you leave out (that matters).
