Transparent xfce panel??

I have the latest xfce4.6 installed and working good. I have enabled transparency which will transparent the panel, but it also transparents the icons and text (entire panel). I only want the panel "background" to be transparent and all icons and text fully visible. Is there a way to set this up?
I found a link on setting the panel settings in a .gtkrc2.0 file which I was able to change the color, but not much more.

This is not possible without the cairo-patch for xfce4-panel. There was an AUR package for it, but I think it's only for 4.4...
