I want to downgrade all the X.org packages on my computer to 1.5.3-5, but apparently downloading the individual package wasn't enough to downgrade since it conflicts with my drivers...is there an easier way to downgrade these packages?

You can check to see if mutlu_inek repo is still up:

It doesn't have these:
xf86-input-aiptek
xf86-video-sis
^I need those
Also, I get a 403 error. Most of the time, if a repo is up, I can download packages from my browser.

I've downloaded the needed packages from the Arch Rollback machine, is it advisable to just install these?

I am wondering the same thing. I'm having problems with the current xorg and my matrox (mga) drivers.

Yeah. I'm going to test downgrading my xorg packages, then setting the group to ignore. I hope that works.

Where did you get old xorg packages? Please update on if it worked or not, too. Thanks!

I got them here: http://arm.nrk.cc/
I'll post more after the update.

Downgrading the packages solves the logout hang.

How do you install the entire xorg from here? How does that work?

I just replaced the xorg-server and my drivers, then ran (sudo) pacman -U /path/to/oldpkgs/*.pkg.tar.gz (make sure this only contains your xorg downgrades). Download the packages from the Arch Rollback machine first ...it's just my KDM is acting funny (no display as my monitor says while turning off ) when I turn the computer off via KDM while my computer behaves fine when I turn it off otherwise.
I just need to set Pacman to only get my xorg packages from a certain date of the repositories...how do I do that?

You might also find old packages in /var/cache pacman/pkg

I cleared out my old packages, that's why I downloaded them from the rollback machine.
