I am running a GeForce 7600 GT and am not able to get my X-Server running. But apparently that seems to be normal with the latest driver and is supposed to be fixed.
Sooo... I thought I'd try the beta, with the result being that I was not able to get anything running - the package from AUR for some obscure reason does not give me an 'nvidia.ko' kernel module, which I have no way of understanding why. Is there any way to check why this happens?

I have a nVidia 7600GT with the latest kernel and X works fine.

Hope this helps, I have not tried the beta driver so I can not comment on it not producing nvidia.ko.

Alright; I have tried your configuration, it didn't work; all I am getting is a pitchblack X server screen - nothing whatsoever.
Besides - you are not supposed to have anything about DRI written in your Xorg.conf, as far as I remember. But that only on a sidenote.

This is hereby solved; everything was working fine. I expected that I am supposed to get some sort of an x-mouse cursor, which I didn't. Tried out an X-app and everything works just fine.
