adding a (lower) resolution to xorg.conf

so i feel like i've tried everything on google to get an additional mode into my xorg, but nothing is getting recognized. my laptop runs @ a native 1024x768, but i know it can do 640x480 (i've done it before - ages ago) i'm trying to get starcraft to go fullscreen, and it needs 640x480.

anyways, here's my xorg.conf

Re: adding a (lower) resolution to xorg.conf

yeah, i forgot to mention i've tried xrandr. it lists 1024x768 as my only res.

and ii'd rather not delete the higher ones, as i want to just switch resolutions on the fly

Re: adding a (lower) resolution to xorg.conf

so i've just been doing some reading, and from what i've gathered xorg grabs it's configs on the fly now or something? if this is true, would that be somehow effecting my setup? also; i'm running intel-video-legacy if that affects anything
