how to access local linux partitions within vmware running windows xp?

i would like to access my local files on a linux partition (ext3) but i dont know how.

i am using the vmware server 2 and i run windows xp on it.

is there a nice way to do that?

the easiest way I could think of is just use samba.... Then again, I have a samba server running anyway, for the "other" PCs in the house, and not only to connect to in a virtual machine.

I don't use vmware for my virtual machines, I use virtualbox, and it is very easy to setup sharing in it.
