Multimedia vga camera driver question

Hello all.. I would like to know, what multimedia driver modules for cameras do you by default compile in your kernel? I was using arch on my laptop for a while and my vga cam was detected and working by default. I'm trying out now gentoo and wondering what modules do you compile with to make my vga cam work..

Cheers!

Re: Multimedia vga camera driver question

I'm confused ur trying gentoo now and want to know what modules to make for gentoo?
I'm pretty sure last time i checked the base installer uses every module, which helps for any installation. The user is supposed to run
lsmod > /dir/my-modules
and now u have a  file to see what modules were auto detected, which u can then choose to manually compile ur kernel with only the drivers u need.

Re: Multimedia vga camera driver question

Thanks for the reply! I can't check lsmod, my archlinux install is formated. I search in google and found this link http://www.linlap.com/wiki/toshiba+satellite+l300 that points out that the Camera Driver is CNF7051, though can't find the specific module/driver for it in menuconfig. Doesn't anyone know what driver/module is that?

Re: Multimedia vga camera driver question

Finally fixed it! I just needed uvcvideo support in kernel, no additional drivers required for this webcam:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04f2:b070 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd

Cheers!
