System beep

How do I stop it?  I have been using 'rmmod pcspkr' to do it and that worked fine, now when I run the command I get
ERROR: Module pcspkr does not exist in /proc/modules

I did add it to my blacklist a while ago, but it didn't seem to work and I still had to use the rmmod command, and other than that I haven't updated my computer in the last several days.

Re: System beep

Try "snd-pcsp", possibly in combination with pcspkr...

Re: System beep

At my laptop removing both pcspkr and snd-pcsp didn't help. But if you use ALSA, you can mute channel "PC Beep" (for example by alsamixer).

Re: System beep

everything seems to work fine after a reboot, for some reason my sound card wasn't being detected.
