KDE4 game lags

Not sure where to post this...

I'm running KDEmod for some time (from 4.1 i guess) and everything seems to work quite fine. But while running game (america's army) i'm having some little lags every few seconds (haven't tried any other game, but will today... but i guess it will be the same). FPS are fine (it drops for a moment during these lags), it's still playable but really very annoying and giving me some disadvantage ingame. Searched the google already, someone suggested turning desktop effects off... but i have it off already
I'm sure it's caused by kde because i don't have this issue while using another WM (tried openbox and twm). So currently when i decide to play for a while, i need to logout, and login again with other WM. Well, pretty annoing too
Anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Is some tweaking neccessary? I'd really like to have this working.

Edit: just tried counter strike under wine and the fps drop is there too. It's happening every second or two

D'oh. Just figured out, and i was looking at it all the time

... conky ...

Edit: if anyone is interested, it was caused by monitoring GPU temperature. Every second it read value via nvidia-sttings. Setting it to update value less often helped.
