Hi people
I just reinstalled my Arch, was i686 and is now x86_64.
Before the change, I had War3 Frozen Throne installed via Playonlinux and everything worked fine.
But since the reinstall, I have this strange bug: when I launch the game and am in the menu, if I move my cursor to the right, the screen begins moving to the left as soon as it is near the menu, as if the resolution wasn't the one I see.
I tried:
- several resolutions, but nothing changes.
- opengl option in the launcher, and the resolution is larger than the screen, so I understand why it moves to the left when I move my cursor further than the screen border. And if I choose a smaller resolution, it's as if it zommed in o_O
- uninstall/reinstall of the game, last game patch or the install version (which is the download version from my battle.net account)
Does anyone have an idea about what is going on ?

I'm using KDEMod 4.2.2-1 so I'd say kwin ? Resolution is 1680x1050, and the highest game resolution is 1400x1050.
I'll try with another DE and/or another KDE resolution.
EDIT:
- with openbox: the same problem occurs
- with KDE, but changing the resolution to the game's one: no problem o_O

so u changed wc3 resolution in the registry i assume. EDIT: <- change 2 registry keys. something like HKEY LOCAL USER - wherever wc3 options are. u can change the resolution to 1680x1050 (same i use) in the video key.
disabling desktop effects is always a good option when playing wc3 in linux!

Yes, I just tried the registry edition, and it works ^^ Strange that I have to do this now and didn't have with my precedent install o_o I just hope I'll find an answer that won't be "registry tweak".
I'll try some other games and hope it won't have this bug (or else, I won't be able to play Diablo 2 ), but for now, thanks !

hmm sounds like you have got the same issue like me:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=68768
i think the lib32 libs are broken, but thats my oppinion. i posted also in the german forums, but there is no solution for it yet. with gentoo 64bit, same configuration, i do not have this problem (so i am using gentoo now).
please try the following:
install a 32bit chroot, xorg + wine inside the chroot and run warcraft inside the chroot.
are you using nvidia-drivers? which card do you have?

Same problem here, fglrx driver for Ati Mobility HD2600. I have also the same issue in other games

Yes, it seems to be the same problem, with both of us having a NVidia gfx card, and one with an ATI ... the lib32 option might be the way to find the answer.
PS: I tried with Diablo2 and the bug is there too, so it's not game related.

Sorry for the double post, but I installed the lib32 package group and the problem seems to be solved. I'll do some tests when I'll have some time, just wanted to let you know. (And now: which one of all those packages in the lib32 group did solve this issue ? )

Confirmed! but its crazy solution

yeeehaahhh it's working ....damn what package did solve that issue??

I suppose one of these
lib32-alsa-lib lib32-catalyst-utils lib32-freeglut lib32-libx11 lib32-libxfixes lib32-mesa lib32-sdl lib32-sdl_mixer lib32-sdl_net

Installing the lib32 group is not recommended, it's rather for uninstalling if you want to get rid of all 32bit libs. A IMHO better solution is to use a 32bit chroot, search the wiki for it, once installed, it gives you much less trouble.
