I have deluge set to start at login on my openbox/xbmc htpc and noticed that it hasn't been doing so.
Starting deluge from the terminal only results in a hanging terminal with the following error:
[ERROR ] 08:09:37 config:296 Error backing up old config..
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/deluge/ui/gtkui/mainwindow.py:63: GtkWarning: gtk_toolbar_set_icon_size: assertion `icon_size != GTK_ICON_SIZE_INVALID' failed
"glade/main_window.glade"))
which google tells me is an unrelated and not very important issue.
After hours of screwing around, I uninstalled flexRSS plugin, delete my deluge .config file and reboot, and it works fine.
I reinstall the flexRSS plugin just to check, same thing happens again.
I've looked through all of my logs and can't find a damn thing wrong.
What's weird is I have the same setup on my lxde primary computer and although it's been unreliably starting, it still works with the plugin.
Help?
**edit - the working setup is 64-bit, the busted one is 32, mebbe that has someting to do with it?

some progress:
deluged.log shows that the program keeps stalling here:
ZipImportError: can't decompress data; zlib not available
I've installed zlib but still have the same problem.
I'll probably just try going back to the previous version of python if I can find it, unfortunately this is a new install and it's not in my cache.

I hade a problem with deluge's GUI today with similar GTK errors .
Deleting '~/.config/deluge/gtkui.conf' fixed it for me .
English is not my native language .

thanks, but I've deleted the entire .config deluge folder multiple times, still no luck.
I was hoping that today's upgrade helped, but no such luck.
Downgrading python would also require me to download 3-4 other newer packages that rely on the new python.
oi. I was going to try rtorrent with rssdler but decided to stick with deluge because it was familiar and therefore easier, now I'm thinking zi was wrong.

My deluge won't start up either. Before, I could start it and it would generally work the second time, now I've got nothing. Same message, and the window just never draws.

deleting the file "core.conf" from ~/.config/deluge will allow a restart but it also deletes all of your settings.
Of course, once the flexRSS plugin is enabled it works fine until you reboot or restart deluge.
That's what's odd: it works fine until you reboot/restart. What the hell?

I didn't enable the flexRSS plugin to begin with, so I'm not sure why I'm having this problem, unless it's enabled by default. I've grepped all the config files and not found it, so I'm assuming it isn't.
For me, deleting core.conf doesn't help. Deluge just locks at startup.
EDIT:
I must be misunderstanding something here. Is deluge a client-server application, or is the deluge daemon just a headless version of deluge itself? I had started the daemon, and once I stopped it, the deluge UI started working again.
